A celebration of the Dallidet Women
Saturday October 22
11:30 to 3:00 - lunch buffet served at 1:00 Senora Asencion Concepcion Salazar Dallidet, widely known as Mama Dallidet, was a strong woman who helped instill a sense of pride - especially in her daughters - in their Mexican heritage. It is in her honor that we say ¡Vamos de fiesta! The menu will include:
|
¡Y mas!
Beyond the amazing food, we will have:
- Live music by Louie Ortega
- A raffle for an art piece by David Gurney, and a planter and plaque donated by Luna Rustica (see photo)
- A tasting of Mexican wines and cheeses
- A fresh flower market, with potted mums from the garden
David Gurney’s ceramic work, like his lifestyle, is influenced by Thoreau’s views of nature, Mexican culture and folk art and growing up in a time of abundant orange groves and strawberry fields of California.
Each piece of Gurney’s functional pottery is hand-painted and decorated with mythical landscapes that reflect his time, place, and sensibility.
He received his MA in ceramics from California State University, Fullerton and lives on California’s Central Coast where he maintains an enormous garden and a sustainable lifestyle.
