and Life, Liberty, and the Pursuit of Happiness
as seen through the lens of the SLO County Chicana experience.
Linnea Valdivia is the Program Manager of the Gala Pride & Diversity Center, and a board member for Tranz Central Coast. She's dabbled in many skills -- including dramaturg, playwright, producer, and more --, and now dedicates her time to the LGBTQ+ community of the Central Coast.

Once Upon a Time in the West
Enjoy a curated video on the history of San Luis Obispo County, starting from with the Chumash settlements from 15,000 years ago. Sit back and relax as you learn all about our lovely SLO County.
Chores and Play
Experience our hands-on exhibit about children's lives in the past, and quiz your knowledge on historic items. Our exhibit includes "virtual reality" via a stenograph, a working 1897 Singer sewing machine, old books like Fun with Dick & Jane, and toys.
Found In Our Warehouse
Discover un-catalogued items found in our Collections Archive in our newest exhibit. Items include Chumash and Salinan mortars and pestles, miniature Mexican pottery, and 1929 medical prescriptions -- see what strange "remedies" they used!
