The Varian Brothers:
From Halcyon to silicon valley and beyond
On Friday, February 2nd, join the History Center of SLO County for our next Carnegie Chat, The Varian Brothers with Pete Kelley.
How did two young men from Halcyon invent the most important invention that was used in WWII, the klystron tube. Was it their innate intelligence? Was it the freethinking spirit they learned growing up in this utopian community? How did Varian Associates become the model company that greatly influenced Silicon Valley? |
Pete will explore these questions and delve into the impact that Russ and Sig Varian had on the world.
